A Visit To The
Peachtree City Farmer's Market
Saturdays are special in Peachtree City, not just because it’s a day many of us reserve for time to be spent relaxing and enjoying all of the wonderful things this town has to offer. It’s a day when deep in the heart of the bubble, an ordinary parking lot turns into a bustling street market showcasing locally grown produce, meats, and various other sundries, it’s called The Peachtree City Farmer’s Market. The recent increase in popularity and growth in size of the market has brought some incredibly tasty and unique products to our area.
The Local Bubble is pleased to be establishing a new Special Section of our blog, dedicated to offering you news and information about all of the wonderful products available at The Peachtree City Farmer’s Market. Starting next week, you can stop by our Blog site every week to get the latest info on the top locally sourced products offered right here in the Bubble.
Here are Five Tips To Help You Make The Most of Your Visit To The Local Farmers Market...
1. The Early Bird Gets The Worm: Arrive early for your pick of the best and most freshest products possible. Don’t worry if you can’t be the first in line, your product options will still likely be fresher than you’ll find in most big grocery stores, but your selections may be limited.
2. Your Support Helps Keep Farms Going: Many local farmers depend on the income they generate from the market, so your support is very important to them. Most of the vendors run very small operations, and their profits are slim. Supporting them with your business helps ensure that you will always have access to the utmost, freshest food products available.
3. Keep It Local: When you spend $100 at the Local Farmer’s Market, the majority of those dollars go back into the local economy. Conversely if you spend $100 at the local grocery stores, a Majority of those dollars, leave not only our local community but leave our state economy.
4. Don’t be Afraid To Ask if You Can Try: Most farmers are confident in the quality of their product and want you to be happy with your purchase. If you are not sure if you are going to like something, ask to try it. Many vendors are happy to provide a sampling of their product for you to try.
5. Farmer’s Can’t afford to do “Deals”: Many small vendors operate on very thin margins. Know that the prices they are asking are incredibly fair and don’t try to haggle or bargain with the vendors. The best way to get a good deal is to be a regular and consistent customer.
While there are other markets in The Bubble, The Peachtree City Farmer’s Market seems to be the place where most local residents go to for fresh off the farm products and creative wares by local artisans. The Peachtree City Farmers Market also serves as an extension of The Bubble's Community Garden where residents can secure their own planting plots for growing herbs, vegetables and favorite perennials and other assorted plants. Come by the market and find out how you can participate in this awesome program.
